Immigration Clinical Evaluations

Immigration cases can involve experiences of trauma, family separation, violence, displacement, and significant psychological distress. A clinical evaluation can provide an objective perspective on how these experiences have affected an individual's mental health, functioning, and overall well-being.

I provide clinical evaluations for individuals involved in immigration matters, assessing psychological symptoms, functioning, and relevant psychosocial factors. My approach is trauma-informed and culturally responsive, with attention to each client's individual experiences, family dynamics, cultural context, and circumstances relevant to their case.

Trauma-informed. Culturally responsive. Clinically objective.

*I’m currently accepting referrals and collaborations with immigration attorneys throughout California*

Clinical Evaluations for Immigration Matters

I provide clinical evaluations for:

What to Expect

01 - Initial Consultation

02 - Clinical Interview

03 - Clinical Assessment

04 - Documentation Review

05 - Written Evaluation

Please note: A clinical evaluation does not guarantee a particular immigration outcome. The evaluation provides a clinical perspective based on the information available at the time of assessment. Immigration attorneys and government agencies determine how the evaluation is used and how the case is ultimately decided.

My Approach

The foundation of my evaluation process is objectivity, clinical integrity, and cultural understanding.

I approach each evaluation as an independent clinical assessment. My role is not to advocate for a particular legal outcome, but to provide a clear and clinically grounded understanding of the client's psychological experiences and functioning.

I consider each client's history within the context of their culture, family relationships, immigration experiences, and other factors that may influence their mental health.

My evaluations may incorporate clinical interviews, psychological measures, behavioral observations, and relevant documentation when appropriate.

Culturally Responsive Evaluations

Culture, family dynamics, and language can shape how individuals experience and communicate psychological distress. As a Punjabi-American therapist, I understand the ways cultural values, intergenerational experiences, family expectations, and immigration experiences can influence mental health and family relationships.

I work with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and strive to understand each client's experiences within their cultural and personal context while maintaining an objective, clinically grounded evaluation process.

Training & Experience

I have received specialized training in immigration psychological evaluations with Georgia King, LCSW. This training complements my clinical experience in trauma, mental health assessment, and culturally responsive care and informs my approach to providing objective, thorough, and culturally responsive clinical evaluations for immigration matters.

For Immigration Attorneys & Legal Professionals

I welcome referrals and collaboration with immigration attorneys throughout California.

If you're looking for a clinician to refer a client for an immigration clinical evaluation, I am available to discuss the referral, scope of the evaluation, and any relevant clinical considerations. I provide attorneys with a thorough, objective, and clinically grounded evaluation that clearly communicates the psychological factors relevant to their client's case.

I work primarily through referrals from immigration attorneys and legal professionals. An attorney referral helps ensure that the clinical evaluation is appropriately aligned with the client's immigration matter and the legal issues relevant to their case.

If you are an immigration attorney seeking a clinical evaluation for your client, I welcome the opportunity to discuss the referral, scope of the evaluation, and relevant clinical considerations.

Please note: I ask that clients have an immigration attorney involved in their case before scheduling an evaluation. I do not provide legal advice or determine immigration eligibility. To discuss a referral or inquire about availability, please contact me directly.
